The 2005 vintage began with a wet spring followed by a mild and dry summer. Ripening conditions were close to ideal. On average the ripening period was warmer than 2004 but without any temperature spikes allowing ripening to go at full speed.
Vineyards: Grown mostly on red earths on the rolling Hills of the Western Barossa Valley from Hentley Farm and neighbours

Vine Canopy: This fruit has been grown on single cordon with a combination of Aussie sprawl and VSP systems.
Oak: Matured in 2-3 yr old oak 70% French and 30% American for approximately 10 months.
Remarkably fresh for its age, this wine reveals earthy depth with notes of mushroom and savoury nuance. The palate is supple and finely textured, guided by soft, fine-grained tannins that carry through to a long, elegant finish. A harmonious balance of maturity, structure, and savoury complexity.
