"Full-bodied in every sense. Rich, thick, powerful, its muscles bulging with sweet, blackberried, jam-stuffed fruit, its limbs of licorice and coffeed oak rippling with chunky ropes of tannin. You could moor ships to this. Its flavours reach into deep, inky pools; the finish pulls it all safely into harbour" -96 POINTS-James Halliday Wine Companion, Tyson Stelzer.

The 2014 vintage experienced a key rain event in mid-February, with dry conditions otherwise prevailing. A hot summer transitioned to milder temperatures during the harvest period. This led to an early harvest followed by a mid-vintage pause, promoting late ripening and intricate flavor development. The resulting wines are well-balanced and concentrated, reflecting the season's unique climatic influences.
Planted on G-Block the grapes thrive in shallow red clay loam overlying shattered limestone. Rows are meticulously oriented north to south, maximising sun exposure with our elevated eastern aspect.
After crushing and de-stemming, the fruit was allowed to macerate on skins in open-top fermenters for 8-10 days, fostering a gradual fermentation at temperatures between 15-18°C. Cap management techniques comprised a mix of open pump-overs and gentle hand plunging. Following fermentation, the wine underwent basket pressing and was transferred to a blend of 65% new and 35% second-use French barrels for natural malolactic fermentation. Oak maturation spanned a total of 22 months.
