Each year, our Chief Winemaker Andrew Quin creates a limited release single block wine that showcases the unique terroir diversity across the Hentley Farm estate, and the characteristics of the vintage that was. Originally under the familiar Hentley Farm white label, The Creation now undergoes an original label created each vintage by an artist from the Adelaide Central School of Art, to portray the individuality, style, and distinction of this iconic wine project.
Artist: SUE KNEEBONE
Sue Kneebone is an interdisciplinary visual artist with a PhD in visual arts from the University of South Australia who works across different media, creating mixed media and moving image works that incorporate the transformative processes of assemblage, and montage to create new contexts, correlations and associations that move across memory, history and place. Dr Sue Kneebone’s practice explores the transformative process of mixed media and montage. Her works challenge viewers to consider insidious subtexts such as disturbed ecologies and dispossession from colonial incursions.
A combination of field trips and archival research have fostered a deeper understanding of the duplicitous nature of historical memory and hidden truths as ongoing legacies of colonisation. Sue’s works seek to evoke the affective presence of colonial settler culture as a spectre of contrasting brutality and gentrification, entangled in shadowy undercurrents of the past that still resonate today.
